The mission is to ensure that the rights of the student community are considered in the management of the School of Social Sciences, facilitating their trajectory through support mechanisms. It aims at promoting students’ participation in university life and establishing a close relationship with society.
Main Objective
To strengthen institutional monitoring of the educational trajectories of the student community in order to tackle any problems that could interrupt the students’ performance at university..
Specific Objectives
To improve the distribution of resources to mitigate economic difficulties students may have.
To diagnose post-pandemic issues affecting students in order to build a strategic approach plan.
Promote active listening and coordination with student representatives.
Functions:
1-To Implement policies related to students’ welfare established by statutes and higher governing bodies in conjunction with the University Welfare Secretary of the University Board.
2-To address students’ concerns and channel them appropriately.
3-To maintain relationships with students’ organizations representing the university.
4-To process scholarships, honour loans, subsidies, and other economic benefits, coordinating actions with higher bodies and other competent units.
5-To promote recreational and sports activities to integrate students into the university community.
6-To implement actions to provide social assistance services.
7-To coordinate tutoring and academic guidance programs to support students in their educational trajectories.
8-To promote students’ participation in extracurricular activities and university extension projects.
9-To establish partnerships with external institutions to facilitate professional internships and job opportunities for students.
10-To evaluate and monitor the impact of implemented policies on student welfare and make any necessary adjustments..
